Bella Mackenzie Steps Into Her Most Powerful Era Yet

Bella Mackenzie is one of Australia’s undeniable, authentic musicians on the rise. Perhaps it's the fact that before the sold-out shows, chart success, and millions of streams, she was a country kid growing up surrounded by live music, storytelling and the kind of small-town experiences that shape a songwriter's soul. Or maybe it's her willingness to be vulnerable through her music, turning heartbreak, resilience and personal growth into songs that resonate deeply with listeners.

As one of Australia's fastest-rising country artists, Bella is entering an exciting new chapter. Following the success of recent releases ‘There Must Be A Fire’ and ‘Blacksmith’, she's preparing to unveil her latest single, ‘Girl’, a track she describes simply as "for the girls." Growing up in country Australia, music was always close at hand. Some of Bella's earliest memories revolve around her father's pub, where she watched live performances and developed a love for connecting with audiences through song.

"Growing up in the country definitely shaped who I am as an artist," she shares. "There are so many stories from those years, especially playing at my dad's pub. It taught me how powerful live music can be and how important genuine connection is."

That connection has become a defining characteristic of Bella's music. Her recent single There Must Be A Fire marked the beginning of what she describes as her most authentic era yet. Inspired by intuition, betrayal and trusting your instincts, the track showcased a bolder songwriting style and a newfound confidence in sharing her truth.

She continued that momentum with ‘Blacksmith’, a deeply personal release that explored resilience and finding strength through difficult experiences. Written entirely on her own, the song became one of her most vulnerable pieces to date. Both tracks were accompanied by striking visuals filmed in Broken Hill, which perfectly complemented the music's raw, cinematic nature.

"Broken Hill was incredible," Bella says. "The landscape has this rugged beauty that really matched the stories we were telling through the songs. It became such an important part of bringing that chapter of music to life visually." Now, Bella is looking ahead to what's next.

Her upcoming single ‘Girl’ takes that honesty even further, creating a space for listeners to embrace every emotion that comes with love, heartbreak, healing and self-worth. When asked what conversation she hopes the song sparks, Bella's answer is refreshingly heartfelt. "I hope that when my listeners hear ‘Girl’, they allow themselves to feel whatever emotion this song provokes. For me, because I've moved on from the situation that gave me this song, I feel empowered to know my worth and protect my peace. But I want my listeners to feel the hurt, feel the freedom, feel the anger or love and not feel ashamed."

It's a sentiment that reflects the strength found throughout Bella's recent catalogue. Rather than shying away from difficult emotions, she embraces them, creating music that encourages listeners to do the same. And if she had to sum up Girl in just three words? "The three words I'd use to describe ‘Girl’ are literally for the girls."

With a growing fanbase, major touring opportunities, millions of global streams, and a string of standout releases behind her, Bella Mackenzie continues to establish herself as one of the most exciting voices in Australian country music. Her role as an ambassador for Whitney's fashion label FAR MER throughout the 'All My Exes' collection campaign further highlights her expanding creative reach, positioning her as a rising force both within the music industry and beyond.

As she prepares to release ‘Girl ’, one thing is clear: this is an artist fully stepping into her power. Honest, fearless and unapologetically herself, Bella Mackenzie isn't just creating songs, she's creating moments that make people feel seen. And that's exactly what country music does best. Make sure to listen to Bella’s latest song, ‘Girl ’, on all streaming platforms on Friday and stay tuned for her upcoming music.
