Gracie Abrams Live at The Forum

If you’ve been keeping up with the hype on TikTok over Gracie Abrams, then you won’t be shocked when I say that fans were lined up for 2+ days around the block at the Forum to see the musician.

Since her first single in 2019, Abrams has been taking over the world stealing the hearts of millions who now love bows and screaming about heartbreak in the car. There wasn’t one person in the venue without a bow, it was one of those moments where I never felt safer going to a gig. The crowd aged from early teens to mid-twenties, Abrams had a song that would resonate with anyone in any way - that is a true credit to her.

Upon entering the venue, fans were chatting, trading friendship bracelets, and drawing sparkly ‘21’s on their hands in preparation for Abrams. The pre-show playlist was well and truly underway with everyone singing along to Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers, and Boy Genius just to name a few.

To begin the evening, we were treated to a set from Tiny Habits. The trio from Boston were truly incredible. Just three voices and a guitar were enough to amplify the theatre with everyone in awe of their voices. They even surprised us with a cover of the iconic ‘Matilda’ by Harry Styles which you already know everyone sang their hearts out to.

The clock struck 9 pm and the lights went down, everyone became hysterical (including myself). The realization of finally seeing Abrams live had come to fruition for many in the crowd as there were tears, screams, and smiles as the beat of ‘Where do we go now?’ Began playing.

Despite a slight cold, Abrams was determined to push through the set and give us her best performance, and she did. Treating us with an extra 40 minutes on top of her set with songs we only dreamt of hearing live including ‘Long Sleeves’, ‘In Between’ and ‘405’.

The connection between Abrams and her fans is indescribable. It’s like we’re all a group of friends sitting in a room hanging out with her as she plays some of her songs. Trying snacks, receiving roses and friendship bracelets, holding hands with fans, and taking song requests, you just knew that Gracie was there for us as much as we were for her.

It’s been quite exciting to see Abrams tour Australia over the past week. Considering her release of three albums ‘Minor’, ‘This Is What It Feels Like’ and ‘Good Riddance’ you could tell that Abrams had been waiting a long time to perform in Australia. With hits across the three albums, the night was nothing short of incredible. We’re already counting down the days till we get to see her again!
