On The Rise With Stevan
Globally acclaimed from the hometown of Wollongong, multi disciplinary artist and producer Stevan has released his latest new single ‘Loners Club’ from the forthcoming EP out this July 7th. Since his latest tracks including ‘Hello Goodbye’ and ‘Reptilian’, Stevan welcomes a new hypnotically charged sound that embodies him to make a unique and innovative name for himself.
Known for being very passionate and open to different styles of music, Stevan continues to be intrigued into the process of producing music, singing or experimenting with different sounds. Influenced by various artists and old tunes, he is always looking to combine his different range of a love for many different things into a piece of art. For listeners who are familiar with Stevan, it can be notably said that music is really an embarking journey.
As we dive into the thoughts of his upcoming new music, he describes this EP “As a time of growing pains musically and lyrically. Loners Club comes from a time of growth during the pandemic, talking about a range of feelings and perspectives that influenced a lot of the songs I’ve written.” he says.
Stevan wanted to learn to enjoy the process of creating music and as it can often feel rushed. Recognising this EP as a time to come back into what he loves and honouring his journey as a musician.
For most creatives, we often go through different phases in the way we portray our art. ‘Loners Club’ was exactly that for Stevan. As we don’t often predict these changes, Stevan would like to see his audience take away the idea that he is “growing and changing” into a more relevant and unique music style that feels true to him as an artist now.
Stevan is fortunate to continue to pursue his love for creating music and art. He describes how as a musician “when you are disconnected to who you are, you stop creating things that make you feel something.” As an artist myself I couldn’t agree more with this. “To feel like you can create something that you’re proud of regardless of what other people think is so important. Looking after who you are, staying true to what you believe and continuing to grow upon experiences are important as an artist.
We are delighted to hear that this Saturday 17th June at the Retro Groove in Wollongong, Stevan will set the stage after a few long awaited years for a free pop-up performance and Meet and Greet. Being very excited to play for family and friends who have grown up with his musical dreams, Stevan describes it as a “Different sort of landscape since I started as a musician. Having friends share my music and vision now, I’m really excited to meet new people and perform for those who have supported me along the way”. All ages are welcomed to his show from 11am - 12:30pm.
Stevan is continuing to make an innovative name to the music industry since he first emerged as an artist as he sets his sights on 2023 as a year to claim as his own in every shape and way.
