Craezy For Daezy: ‘Take It From Me’ EP Launch

It was the night of Valentine’s Day 2026, a scattering of individuals, couples and groups making their way into The Northcote Social Club for a night of unmissable local talent, and most importantly it was Daezy’s launch event for their new EP ‘Take It From Me’.

The wonderful Charly Oakley opened up the evening, warming up the crowd with their lively sound and infectious energy - the room was smiling and swaying along. Charly connected with the audience as if they were life-long friends, instilling giggles and reflective moments throughout their set.

Pisco Sour followed up with high-energy and an electrifying display of music that you can easily lose yourself in. At one moment I forgot I was in an intimate venue, the boys were delivering such a large-scale performance full of enthusiasm. Leadman Nich Marchese had the audience in the palm of his hand, guiding them to move as he was along to their irresistible hit ‘Stadiums’; crouching to the ground then jumping up with arms in the air.

The night now warmer, the audience grew. The lights went down, the stage lit up in blue.

Violinist Imogen appears, serenading with a graceful introduction, setting the scene for what was to follow. Cheers filled the room as the band entered the stage. Opening with the EP’s title track ‘Take It From Me’, the atmosphere was whimsical and attentive, Daisy’s voice equally angelic as it is powerful and raw, it glides through acoustic strums from guitarist Jackson, backed by Josh on bass, Jack on drums, and Joe on the keys.

The band played through a mix of previous tunes and new releases, all tied together with themes of queer love, relationships and connection. The alluring track ‘Mother’ builds effortlessly to a rewarding climax, ‘Flying’ makes you want to put your arms around your mates and hold them tight, with rhythmic guitar strumming that takes you on a journey, compelling oohh’s from Daisy that makes you want to get involved - I can almost hear the huge crowds singing back to them when this song becomes an essential hit at future shows. The hard hitting guitar of the crowd favourite ‘The Cycle’ hits even harder live with Jackson and Josh strumming in sync as they make eye contact across the stage, audience getting their rock on with some tasteful head banging.

They also played a cover of Olivia Dean’s ‘Nice To Each Other’, which musically and thematically fit in so well with their set and they made it sound like their own. The audience was getting involved as they swayed along to each song, Daisy singing to them and engaging them to sing with her. So many smiling faces, euphoric in the moment, an audience member had a sign uttering the words Craezy 4 Daezy, which spoke for the whole crowd. They closed off the set with ‘Not A Man’, a song with echoey guitar and insane vocals (again) from Daisy that flows into your soul and makes you want more.

As they departed the stage, the audience wasn’t done, quickly establishing an ‘encore’ chant. Daezy returned with a performance of ‘Blame’, a memorable indie-rock-folk tune with a bridge of relatable lyrics, you couldn’t help but to sing and move along.

Having seen these guys perform a few times now over the past year, it’s felt really special to witness their growth and to help capture it. They create such a loving and accepting space to share music and to inspire togetherness.

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend Valentine's Day.

Check out the EP ‘Take It From Me’, these guys are going places.
