CALUM HOOD
Where Order and Chaos Collide
MUSIC EDIT
With over 18 million albums sold, multi-city tours sold out and 5 albums under their belt as one of Australia’s most successful musical exports, Calum Hood is no stranger to the industry.
After over a decade in the band, Hood has spread his wings, embarking on his first-ever solo venture. His upcoming album ORDER chaos ORDER, is a deeply personal exploration of love, grief, addiction, family and fame. Hood does not seek to change the past, instead to observe and reflect on it.
HONNE, aka Andy Clutterbuck and James Hatcher, sat down and chatted with us ahead of THE OUCH tour. The duo will head down under with a fresh set of tracks from their much-anticipated fourth studio album OUCH, which dropped in early September.
KIAN recently released his new album ‘Wake Up, You’re Falling’ and Unraveled had a chat with him about all things music, finding yourself and what his predictions are for the Australian music industry.
LIVE
Almost two years since their last visit to Australia, Californian indie-rock outfit Half Alive lit up Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre last night on their Persona World Tour.
Spacey Jane delivered a powerful live performance at PICA, captivating the crowd with their dynamic energy and emotional depth. The band's confidence on stage was evident as they seamlessly blended upbeat anthems with more introspective moments, creating a truly immersive experience. From the overwhelming energy to the heartfelt moments, Spacey Jane proved once again that their live shows are an unmissable experience.
It’s extremely rare to find artists that blend my music genres into one world so seamlessly. Through melodic tunes and eclectic elements, Park Rd - An Indie-Rock band from New Zealand stole the show and made it their own.
REVIEWS
It’s the start of a new September season, and what better way to kick off a new EP - “Analysis Paralysis” by everyone’s favourite headline Australian artist MAY-A. One of the most influential rising artists who has worked with international music sensations 5 Seconds Of Summer, Flume and Wallows, MAY-A continues to be a leading force in the music industry since her debut EP “Don’t Kiss Ur Friends” back in 2021.
Worried that there have not been enough big releases from local artists recently? Well, fear not. Enter G Flip, one of Australia’s surprise musical hot properties, and their new album, the appropriately titled Drummer. I confess I knew relatively little about the Naarm / Melbourne singer & drummer when I started this review. Happily, however, that means we’re working with a blank slate, so this album can be judged more accurately on its merits in a vacuum.
Typically here at Unraveled, we like to cover (relatively) new releases, giving you a deep dive into what’s what in the local and international music and fashion scenes. This review is going to be a little different though - it’s more of a tribute to a criminally underrated and almost totally obscure album. 0151 is the debut LP of Liverpool-based indie rock group The Night Cafe, which was released in 2019.
LISTEN
Spacey Jane’s ‘If That Makes Sense’ album is a true masterpiece. From the moment the intro seamlessly flows into the album, you know that the listening experience is going to be exceptional.
